Admission requirements, Master Economics Study Programme follows Rector's Regulation No. 14/2021 concerning on academic regulations of postgraduate programme of Universitas Andalas.  Master Study Programme has some general and specific requirements for the admission of new students. The general requirements for prospective students are:

  1. Graduating from bachelor’s degree of nationally accredited universities and international universities
  2. Minimum Bachelor’s GPA is 3.00 (range to 4)
  3. Having minimum TOEFL 475/ IELTS 5.5

Prospective new students can view the requirements from the postgraduate website (https://pasca.unand.ac.id/id/).

PREFACE

The Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Andalas which consists of Undergraduate, Master, and Doctoral Study in Economics, is one of the Undergraduate Economics study programs that actively participates in supporting the implementation of the Independent Learning program at the Independent Campus of Universitas Andalas. This is inseparable from efforts to increase accessibility to the needs of link and match higher education and the world of work so that they are more able to accommodate and collaborate in the industrial era 4.0. The ability of graduates from each study program to collaborate in the world of work is very much needed in order to achieve educational objectives (educational objectives) in achieving the needs of economists who are independent and globally competitive.

Universitas Andalas has accommodated each Study Program to actively participate in the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) program through the MBKM Technical Service Unit (UPT). The form of active participation is essentially giving students the right to be able to study and experience learning outside Andalas University that is relevant to the background of the study being carried out. The various MBKM programs offered include 1) Student Exchange, 2) Certified Internships, 3) Teaching Assistance, 4) Research, 5) Humanitarian Projects, 6) Entrepreneurial Activities, 7) Independent Project Studies, 8) Village Development, and 9 ) Disaster Management.

WORKSHOP MODEL ANALYTICAL HIERARCHY PROCESS (AHP)

In order to strengthen the capacity of researchers in the field of economics. The Department of Economics held a Workshop with Dr. Davy Hendri, researcher and lecturer from the Faculty of Economics and Islamic Business - State Islamic University - Imam Bonjol Padang (UIN-IB). This activity will be held on March 18, 2021.

This activity was attended by researchers, lecturers, and students of the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Andalas. This activity also involved several other stakeholders such as research assistants from the Representative Office of Bank Indonesia, West Sumatra Province, and several lecturers from State and Private Universities in West Sumatra.

Students and Lecturers of the Department of Economics held a Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium (DSGE) Workshop on 7 and 14 November 2020 with 3 researchers from the Postgraduate Program in Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business - University of Indonesia. The researcher is Dr. Sugiharso Safuan, Dr. Trisna Triandari, and Dr. (Cand) Agus Salim.

The purpose of this workshop is to deepen the understanding of students and lecturers about DSGE so that it can be used for the research needs of students and lecturers in the field of economics.
