Admission requirements apply for all graduates of Senior High School/Islamic High School/Vocational High School, or equivalent nationally and internationally, including those with disabilities maximum in the last 3 years and meet the qualifications according to Rector Regulation of the Universitas Andalas number 14 of 2020 concerning Academic Regulations for the Universitas Andalas Undergraduate Program and Ministry Regulation Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number 126 of 2016.

Admission of prospective students are carried out through 3 methods, namely SNMPTN (State University Entrance Test), SBMPTN (Joint State University Entrance Test) and Independent Selection for State Universities. SNMPTN and SBMPTN are organized by LTMPT (Institute of University Entrance Test), while the independent track is organized by Universitas Andalas.
